Bullying
Prevention
One of
the reasons why bullying in schools continues to be widespread
is because many schools actually turn a blind eye to the
slightest report of such instances. Some even go as far as
branding them as a mere part of growing up. In other words, the
proliferation of bullying can be attributed to the lack of
bullying prevention procedures in these
establishments.
Bullying
prevention should be implemented the moment an instance of
bullying is reported. While the alleged perpetrator must not be
automatically judged as guilty, a thorough investigation should
be employed in order to get to the truth of the
incident.
There
are two key players in the successful implementation of
bullying prevention mechanisms. One entity is made up of the
parents while the other is comprised of the school’s
administrators. Both entities should be able to identify
telltale signs of such a problem and act quickly on actual
reports.
On the
other hand, there are also two main characteristics that must
be developed in order to reduce such instances of bullying:
vigilance and discipline. The moment parents and school
personnel are vigilant enough to detect the presence of the
problem and strong in their resolve to discipline the
perpetrators, bullying prevention can come into
fruition.
